Dawn of Jets - Privacy Policy

Dawn of Jets is a video game operating on the Meta Quest platform.  eV Interactive LLC is the developer and publisher of Dawn of Jets.  We take your privacy seriously and collect only the data necessary to provide game functionality and improve the products we offer.

This privacy policy applies only to your use of the Dawn of Jets game running on the Meta Quest device family / Meta Quest platform.  Other versions of the game, and services associated with it, may have different privacy policies.​

Information We Collect, How We Use it, and How We Store it
To support gameplay features and improve the game, we, or our partners listed below, collect and process certain information while you play Dawn of Jets. The following information is collected and processed while using the game:​

  • Crash and performance statistics - To fix bugs and improve app performance. Meta may collect crash logs and performance diagnostics to help identify bugs and improve platform and application stability. These logs are handled according to Meta’s privacy policies. 

  • Device Information - For example, the type of device you are playing the game on.  Managed by Meta and PlayFab according to their policies.

  • Gameplay Analytics - To improve playability and identify popular or unpopular features. Managed by PlayFab according to their policies.

  • Gameplay Achievements - To reward players for accomplishing in-game tasks. Stored on the local device and managed by Meta according to their policies.

  • Meta User Id - To enable access to the Meta leaderboard system. Accessed temporarily and not retained by us.

  • Meta User Profile - To display a user’s Meta display name and profile image on in-game leaderboards. Accessed temporarily and not retained by us.

  • High Scores - To display scores on leaderboards. Managed by Meta according to their policies.

  • Head and Hand Positions - We collect the user’s headset hand positions, relative to their play area, to display in-game “avatars” during gameplay. Accessed temporarily and not retained by us.

  • Voice Chat Data - Voice is encrypted and transmitted between players using Photon Voice for multiplayer voice chat.  We do not permanently store voice communications.

  • Meta Friends List - To allow players to send and receive invitations to multiplayer sessions. Accessed temporarily and not retained by us.

  • Invitation Data - To allow players to join a multiplayer session via an invitation. Accessed temporarily and not retained by us.

  • “Presence” Information - To allow your Meta Quest friends to see if you are playing the game, and if you are in a multiplayer session.  Accessed temporarily and not retained by us.

  • Save Game Data - To track a player’s progress through the game, and to enable resumption of progress after a re-installation. Stored on the local device and by Meta’s cloud backup system.

 
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not directly collect or permanently store traditional personal identifiers such as your real name, address, or email address unless you voluntarily provide them (for example, by contacting customer support). However, the game may access platform-provided identifiers such as Meta user IDs, display names, and profile images to provide gameplay features such as leaderboards, multiplayer invitations, and social functionality. 

How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your user data or personal information.  We only share these with third parties as necessary to provide the services described above.  This includes:

  • Usage data is collected by our analytics provider, Microsoft’s PlayFab service.  This data is handled according to PlayFab’s privacy and data handling policies.

  • Gameplay, progress and “presence” information is shared with the Meta Quest service to support leaderboards, achievements and multiplayer features.

 

How Long We Store Your Information
Data managed by third-party service providers such as Microsoft PlayFab or Meta Platforms is retained according to their respective retention policies and as necessary to support the services described above. Data managed by eV Interactive consists of only customer support correspondence and is kept until a customer requests its deletion.

Data Deletion Requests
Customers may request deletion of their user data, including data associated with platform account identifiers, multiplayer statistics, cloud save data, analytics, and support communications.

To request deletion of your data, please contact us at support@ev-interactive.com and include sufficient information to help us identify your account, such as your in-game username or platform username.  If we require more information to identify your account, we will contact you.

Upon verification, we will delete data under our control and assist with deletion requests involving third-party providers where applicable. Some platform-managed data (such as Meta-managed leaderboards, cloud backups, or system telemetry) may be subject to the policies and retention practices of those providers.

Information You Voluntarily Provide
Should you contact us via email, phone or electronic messaging, for customer service or other reasons, we retain your electronic correspondence in order to provide you with better customer service in the future.  You can request that we delete this correspondence at support@ev-interactive.com.

Changes to This Policy
We may, from time to time, make updates to this privacy policy and will publish new versions at this location.

This privacy policy applies only to your use of the Dawn of Jets game running on the Meta Quest device family / Meta Horizon

platform.  Other versions of the game, and services associated with it, may have different privacy policies.

Information We Automatically Collect

We, or our partners listed below, collect certain anonymized information while you play Dawn of Jets.  This information includes:

  • Gameplay information and analytics.  For example, which missions you have played.

  • Device-specific information.  For example, the type of device you are playing the game on and how much memory it has.

  • Diagnostic data.  For example, errors and crash reports.

  • On-platform “friends lists” and profile information.  For example, the display names of you and your friends.

  • Online “presence” information. For example, the area of the game you are currently in.

 

Information We Do Not Automatically Collect

We do not automatically collect, store or share any personally identifiable information such as your name or email address.  The data we collect is only associated with the device on which the game is played, and is only used in aggregate with other such anonymous data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect, aggregated across other anonymous users, to improve Dawn of Jets.  For example, crash-reports may help us fix errors in the game.

Certain information, such as your Meta Horizon user name, and your Meta Horizon friends list, are used to facilitate multiplayer gameplay features such as sending game invites, accepting game invites and displaying “presence” information - such as what game you are currently playing.  This information also facilitates “deep linking” which allows you to run the game and go directly to the multiplayer session your friends are in.

How We Share Your Information

We do not share your anonymous information with third parties with the following exception(s):

  • Anonymous usage data is collected by our analytics provider, Microsoft’s PlayFab.  This data is handled according to their policies to be in compliance with GDPR, COPPA and other government regulations.

  • High-score data is shared with the Meta Horizon service to support leaderboards and achievements.

  • “Presence” information, such as what game you are playing, is shared with the Meta Horizon service to facilitate multiplayer features.

  • When you accept a multiplayer game invitation, the Meta Horizon service will know who you are playing with.

 

How we Store Your Information

We use Microsoft’s PlayFab service to store the information outlined above.  We also use the Meta Horizon service to store data such as high scores and leaderboard information. The data stored at our partners is retained as long as necessary to support the uses described above.

 

Data Deletion

Users can request that their anonymous data be deleted by contacting support@ev-interactive.com.  Note that because this data is stored anonymously, a deletion request may require associating some of your personal information with your previously anonymous data so that it can be located and deleted.
