  • When is the next update?
We’re happy you enjoy the game and want to see more planes and missions. We try to update the game about once ever 4-6 weeks. However, we are a small group and sometimes it takes us a little longer ;-) You can check our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/AirCombatPilotWW2Pacific. If you’d like to sign up for our email newsletter, you can go here [ add link].
  • I crashed after flying through the final checkpoint, do I still get credit for the missions?"
    Yup! Aren't we nice ;-)
  • Do I need to use the brake when making a carrier landing?
It depends on the aircraft you are flying. Aircraft designed for carrier landings have an arrestor hook that can be lowered on approach, and will slow the aircraft to a stop on the deck. Other aircraft do not have this hook. However, if you are good, you may be able to land most aircraft on the deck even if they are not designed for it and don’t have an arrestor hook.
  • The game usually runs very smooth, but can run slowly at times."
We have found that most of the time this is caused by the power-saving and heat-management features of your device. When some devices get hot, or low on battery, they slow down the processor and GPU to save energy. Usually just putting your device to sleep for a few minutes is enough to let it cool down. You can also
  • My devices gets hot when I play the game.
3D games use a lot of power! This can cause your device to heat up and the battery to drain more quickly than usual. While this is perfectly normal for advanced 3D games, you can try using the “Limit Frame Rate” setting on the Graphics page of the Options menu to reduce power consumption.

  • I Bought the Rocket Pack - How do I Use It?
First, thanks for buying the Rocket Pack! Support from customers like you is how we keep going! The rocket pack will allow you to use rockets on any plane that is capable of carrying them. Rockets are one of the best upgrades, so this pack can be a lot of fun. The first plane you encounter that can equip rockets is the F6F-3 Hellcat. When you get that, or any other plane that can carry rockets, you will automatically have them equipped and ready to go. (Once you have that plane, be sure to go back and use rockets to pick up the extra star for mission 01-3.)
  • I purchased the No Ads item, but I’m still seeing ads!"
In very rare circumstances, in-app purchases can fail. If you are seeing ads after a mission, but you are pretty sure you purchased the No Ads item, please send us a support email from within the game under Settings | Support | Contact Us. This will let us examine your cloud save and be sure it contains the No Ads item. Please note: purchasing the No Ads item DOES NOT remove the ability to watch “rewarded” video ads for free spins or mission bonus earnings.
  • How Do I Shoot the Birds
Good question, actually - and you are not the first to ask ;-) The easiest place to find birds is to take off from the carrier in Mission 3-1 with a slower plane such as the Texan. Birds will cross your flight path between the carrier and the 1st checkpoint ring. There are a few other spots like this. Keep your eyes open in front of checkpoints and takeoff locations.

  • I can't complete all 4 stars... it's impossible!?!?!
Note that all objectives for a mission don't need to be completed in a single playthrough of that mission. In fact, for many missions it is impossible to get all 4 stars with a single aircraft. We did this to increase playability and make revisiting missions to pick up an extra star more fun. On each play of the mission you are required to complete the primary objective (star #1) but the others can be collected on separate runs.
  • 01-4 Emergency Airdrop: I can’t get objective 4!
This objective is tricky even with a more powerful engine, so here are some hints: Full throttle! After taking off, raise your gear as soon as you can to reduce drag. Don't fly any higher than necessary... it will cost time and speed. Hit the checkpoints as low as possible. After passing through the second checkpoint, the final checkpoint will appear. Nose down and dive toward this checkpoint. rade altitude for speed and you should be able to make it! We've actually had a pilot say that this objective is a good lesson in "energy management!"
  • 03-4 Drone Intercept: I can’t find the crashed drone.
If you fly straight at the beginning of the mission you will notice a small island that is surrounded by 3 observation ships. The crashed drone is on this island. Look for the smoke rising from the drone.
  • 06-2 Rake the Beach:  I’m having trouble finding all the lookout towers.
All towers are along the coastline. Start at the small island and make your way up the beach as you destroy the other lookout towers. The final 15th tower is a little further up the beach away from the other groups of towers, and may not show up on "radar" until you get a little closer to it.
  • 7-3 Destroy Shipping How do I return and land to finish the mission?
After the 5 primary targets have been destroyed, follow the green pointer to the landing location. Land in the water anywhere in the green circle and come to a stop to complete the mission.
  • 07-4 Defend Fleet
If you've made it this far in the game, then you may find this mission easier if you turn off "auto-aim." Auto aim is great for stationary targets, but it can make it harder to lead moving planes. Stock up on upgrades to do more damage while firing and make sure to lead your targets by firing in front of enemy craft. Here are some notes from the designer: Pay close attention to the indicators. They will appear when new airplanes spawn in. Choose a fast airplane so you can quickly close the distance between you and each subsequent new target. BUT - once you get close, SLOW DOWN so you don't overshoot. Try attacking from above. Partly because this is a good tactic, but partly because it gives you a better view of the battlefield. I turn auto-aim off as it can hinder long-range shots. I sometimes have to make two passes to knock out a plane.
  • 09-4 Battle the Yamato
Take your time reaching the target. This will allow enemy aircraft to leave the area and prevent you from getting shot down early. You can fly high above the clouds between 4800 - 6000 feet to stay out of the range of enemy fire and safely bomb from that altitude. Fly much higher though, and you'll fly out of bounds causing the mission to end prematurely.
  • 10-2 Mobile Forces: I can't find all the cannons to destroy
3 cannons are surrounding the small enemy base near the 2 bridges crossing the water. The larger base on the opposite side of the bay is surrounded by 5 cannons. The last 2 remaining cannons are next to the suspension bridges heading into the mountains. All cannons are relatively close to another.
  • 10-5 Aerial Escort: I’m having trouble shooting down all the enemies.
Here’s a hint: Your allies cannot get shot down, so you can take your time in pursuing enemy aircraft. They also travel in a loop so if you can't get them the first time around, you'll have plenty of time to intercept them again.
  • Android Refunds
If you accidentally purchased an in-game item, we can issue a refund for you. We just need a copy of the email receipt with the item id# and we can start the process. Please email support@ev-interactive.com with this information and we will be happy to help you out.
  • Why is the game asking to access files and photos on my device.
On Android, we download additional graphics and data after the game is installed. This data is saved as a file on your device. Because of this, we are required to tell you that we will be using your device’s storage. We DO NOT access any of your other files or photos.
  • I got a new device and my profile / save game did not transfer over.
We use Google Play's cloud backup system to save your progress, and as long as you are using the same account on your new device, all your progress and player profile should have been transferred automatically. Please note, however, that sometimes this process can take a few hours (or even up to a day.) We recommend trying again and see if it works. If, for some reason, this seems to have failed, you can go to your "old" device, play a mission, and force it to upload a new cloud save. Then, an hour or so later, try the game on your new device and see if it picks up the save. If this still doesn’t solve the problem, please send us an email from the Settings | Support | Contact us button in the game.
  • iOS Refunds
On iOS, refunds for failed or accidental in-app purchases apps are initiated through Apple. You can find the general procedure at this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084 When asked, you can select either “Didn’t mean to purchase item.” or “Item didn’t download or can’t be found.” Note that Apple handles all payment processing - app developers never have access to billing information and can not issue direct refunds. However, if Apple is unable to resolve the situation, please contact us at support@ev-interactive.com and we will do what we can to help.
  • The game sometimes won’t run on my iPad 2.
The iPad 2 has only 512 MB of RAM. If you do not run a lot of other apps, this is enough for Air Combat Pilot. However, after time, less and less of that 512 is available for games. Usually, rebooting the iPad will make more RAM available and the game should run.
  • I got a new iPhone / iPad and my save game didn’t transfer.
We use Apple's iCloud backup system to save your progress, and as long as you are using the same account on your new device, all your progress and player profile should have been transferred automatically. Please note, however, that sometimes this process can take a few hours (or even up to a day.) We recommend trying again and see if it works. Similarly, any purchases you made should be restored automatically by Apple. If, for some reason, this seems to have failed, you can go to your "old" device, play a mission, and force it to upload a new cloud save. Then, an hour or so later, try the game on your new device and see if it picks up the save. Please double-check that you are using the same iTunes / iCloud account and that you didn't specifically exclude our game from automatic backups. If this still doesn’t solve the problem, please send us an email from the Settings | Support | Contact us button in the game.
  • Hey, airplane X can’t carry weapon Y."
While we try to stay fairly true to history, this is a game first, and we may stretch the truth to make it more fun!
  • Hey! HVAR rockets weren’t carried in pods!
In WW2, HVAR rockets were directly mounted under-wing. However, to keep the frame-rate smooth, we had to limit how many separate objects to draw, so we decided to treat HVAR and FFAR rockets as being in a “pod”.
  • Hey! The loadouts for these planes aren’t realistic.
Nope, but they are fun! As with may aspects of Air Combat Pilot, we tried to strike a balance between realism and fun. So while we don’t allow the L-5 Sentinel to carry 500lb bombs, we do let the Corsair have a ridiculously awesome loadout which would have been nearly impossible in real life.
  • Does carrying all these bombs and torpedoes affect my aircraft’s performance.
No, it doesn't. This was a tough decision for us. At first we wanted to create a flexible weapon selection interface, and allow the player to balance what they took into battle with how the loadout would affect their aircraft’s performance. This, however, would have made the game much more complex and pushed it into the “hard core” flight sim category, which is not in keeping with our original concept. So yeah… load her up!
